Welcome to the official web site of the Co. Limerick Employer Liaison Support Service (ELSS). This service was launched in May 2005 as a joint venture between Ballyhoura Development Ltd, West Limerick Resources Ltd and the Limerick County Development Board. It is funded by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht affairs, under the Widening Cohesion Grant.
The programme is designed to facilitate into suitable employment,
members of specific target groups including:
- The long term unemployed
- The underemployed
- People with disabilities
- People returning to work
- Smallholders / Ex Farmers
- Early school leavers
- Migrant Workers
- Ethnic Minorities
- Lone Parents
- Travellers
- Ex prisoners
The overriding aim of the programme is the development of long term relationships with employers, to ensure the successful growth of their organizations, whilst generating greater employment opportunities for those seeking employment.
Job Seekers
The jobseekers experience of the service is one of safety and reassurance. They will meet with a Jobs Club Leader or an Advocate, who will work with them to prepare a CV, or indeed, to prepare for an interview. The jobseeker is supported throughout the process until they are comfortable in their role, or have passed their probation period.
The ELSS supports the Jobs Clubs and Rural Employment Services of both Ballyhoura Development Ltd and West Limerick Resources Ltd and is completely free of charge to both jobseeker and employer.
You can register your details to the jobs club easily by selecting the register as client option from the menu on the left. Just simply enter some details requested and select which Jobs Club you wish to submit your details to.
When you submit your details via this web site, you will be contacted by a facilitator or advocate to complete your registration. In the meantime, feel free to browse our open vacancies by clicking on ‘Available Jobs’ on the menu on the left of this sheet.
Employers
Many employers find it difficult to believe that this is a free service with no strings attached. Well it is! The rationale for introducing the ELSS was that if we can make employers life easier by providing a range of free services, we are helping to maintain the economic viability of the region as an employer base.
The service offered to employers include:
- Free Staff Recruitment.
- Free On Site Support.
- Networking Opportunities.
- Partnership Approach.
For first time users of the site, you can register your company's details by selecting ‘Register As An Employer’ from the menu on the left of this page. This will go directly to the Employer Liaison Officer (ELO). The ELO will then contact you to complete the registration. If your company is already registered with the service and you want to submit the details of a vacancy, just select ‘Submit a Job’ from the menu. Registration is both quick and easy.
To support the employer, the Employer Liaison Officer (ELO) will travel to meet you in your premises and carefully come to an understanding of your needs. The information is then fed back to the Jobs Club Leaders and Advocates who match job seekers to open roles that you might have. At all stages through both selection and induction, the ELO is available to the employer to offer continued support, right through to the end of the employees probation period, if required.
